Job Summary

Key Responsibilities and Criteria for Candidates

• Effectively collaborates within a professional learning team to improve student learning.
• Effectively uses the workshop model for teaching reading and writing using a balanced literacy approach.
• Effectively uses formative, classroom based assessments to guide instruction and evaluate student learning.
• Uses the “Understanding by Design” model for unit planning.
• Maintains a positive and student-centered learning environment, while focusing on the development of social emotional skills.
• Works on projects and other duties as required by the Director.
• Supports positive student behavior through a system based on relationship building and mutual respect.

Requirements

• BA or MA in Arabic Language with Education / Teaching credential.
• Minimum two years of experience teaching in an international or independent school setting (preferred).
• Training as an Elementary School Classroom Teacher.
• Successful experience teaching elementary school students.
• Excellent command of Standard Arabic (fusha).
• Excellent command of English (advanced level required).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with U.S. / standards-based curriculum.
