Chief Accountant

A Chief Accountant oversees the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and strategic financial management.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight: Manage all accounting operations, payments and receipts including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, P&L and other financial reporting.
Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with local regulations in Lebanon, KSA, UAE, France and other jurisdiction when needed and follow compliance procedures and ensure that internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets. In addition, perform reconciliations and reviews to ensure the accuracy of the accounts.
Financial Reporting: Conduct monthly closing and year end closing upon recording adjustments, accruals and provisions. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, Lebanese regulations, and French regulations.
Audit Coordination: Coordinate the annual/periodic audit process, liaising with external auditors and addressing any audit findings to ensure proper regulatory reporting.
Tax Management: Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, including the preparation of tax returns and ensuring timely payments based on each jurisdiction. Prepare schedule of VAT payments for KSA, UAE, and France. Prepare schedule of income tax for the same jurisdictions.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Support budgeting and forecasting processes for revenues and expenses, providing financial insights to align with strategic decision-making.
Team Player: Manage and mentor junior accountants, providing support on recording provisions, accruals, adjustments, and other accounting activities. Report to financial controller on all matters related to finance and accounting operations.
Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certification: Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or similar certification is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills; proficiency with accounting software and MS Office; knowledge of financial reporting and internal/external audits, especially for ODOO ERP system.
