Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our real estate team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations related to real estate transactions. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of real estate accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for real estate entities
• Handle full-cycle accounting for real estate projects, including acquisitions, developments, leasing, and disposals
• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS)
• Monitor project costs and budgets, including construction costs, capital expenditures, and operating expenses
• Prepare bank reconciliations and manage cash flow forecasts for properties and development projects
• Ensure proper recording of rental income, lease incentives, service charges, and expense recoveries
• Collaborate with property managers and leasing teams to validate financial data and support operational decisions
• Assist with audits, VAT/tax filings, and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CA, or equivalent is a plus)
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the real estate sector
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and real estate accounting practices.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365)
• Experience in Cyprus taxation is preferred but not essential
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
