Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Economics

The Department of Economics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Beirut (AUB) invites applications for one tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level to begin in the Fall semester of the 2026-27 academic year (August 15, 2026).

AUB is a teaching-centered research university with a commitment to liberal arts education. Founded in 1866, its mission is to produce and deliver high-quality knowledge and to contribute to the well-being and development of the population of Lebanon and the West Asia and North Africa region.

We encourage candidates from all fields of Economics to apply. Successful candidates will teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and should be committed to research and teaching of the highest quality. The teaching load is four courses per year. The language of instruction is English. Candidates must have a PhD in Economics by the time of appointment. The initial appointment is for a period of four years to allow for a mid-tenure review.
