Full-time Assistant Professor / Associate Professor of Interior Design - PROFID202610

JOB SUMMARYThe role involves teaching architecture courses at undergraduate and graduate levels while upholding USEK's standards in teaching, research, and service. Candidates must show excellence in research, teaching, and student mentoring, collaborate effectively across the University, and contribute to activities aligned with USEK's strategic plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

• Designs and teaches design courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Meets the requirements for excellence in teaching as set by USEK.
• Supervises research master theses.
• Engages in research, publication, creative, and/or professional development activities.
• Supervises student internships.
• Advises, coaches, and mentors students.
• Keeps course portfolio documents required for program review and quality/accreditation processes.
• Participates in committee assignments at department, academic unit, and University levels.
• Participates in student recruitment.
• Works as part of a team and has an open-minded and cooperative attitude.
• Participate in professional development activities.
  
  

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

• Doctorate/PhD in Interior Design or any related field.
• Demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in teaching, research, and service to the University and to the profession.
• Demonstrated content knowledge in interior design, product, or industrial design.
• Relevant teaching experience in higher education, using English or French as the language of instruction.
• Research/publications and/or creative activities in interior design.
• Proven international scientific publications.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Demonstrated ability or potential to secure external funds for research/projects.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate technology and teach courses online.
• Demonstrated ability to provide academic and career advising for students.
