As a Junior Food Safety Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of food safety and hygiene standards across the operation. You will assist in ensuring full compliance with local health regulations, internal food safety policies, and international food safety standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, proactive risk identification, and effective coordination with operational teams to maintain a safe and compliant food environment.
Key Responsibilities
Food Safety & Compliance
- Support the implementation of food safety management systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of food preparation, storage, receiving, and service areas.
- Monitor temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and hygiene checklists.
- Ensure proper food handling, labeling, storage, and rotation (FIFO) practices.
- Assist in enforcing food safety policies and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local health regulations and company standards.
Audits & Documentation
- Conduct internal audits and report findings to senior management.
- Assist during external inspections by health authorities.
- Maintain accurate food safety documentation and records.
- Identify non-conformities and support corrective action plans.
- Track and follow up on food safety incidents and corrective measures.
Training & Awareness
- Participate in staff training sessions on hygiene and food safety practices.
- Support onboarding training related to food safety for new employees.
- Promote a strong food safety culture within the operation.
Risk Management
- Identify potential food safety risks and report them to senior staff.
- Assist in investigating food safety complaints or incidents.
- Support pest control monitoring and sanitation compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Science, Public Health, Nutrition, Hospitality Management, or related field.
- Basic knowledge in food safety regulations.
- Previous experience in food safety, quality assurance, or hospitality operations is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
- Requires Scheduled Visits to different Outlets, thus a car is required.
- May require flexible working hours based on operational needs
