Bank of Bird-in-Hand is actively seeking a Controller to join our team in Bird-in-Hand, PA. The Controller is responsible for the general ledger and chart accounts, overseeing financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and assists with the mitigation of risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operations of the accounting function of the bank, especially its control systems
  • Oversee regulatory reporting and the payroll function of the bank serving as a backup
  • Prepares the month end AETR, quarterly and annual tax provision workbook
  • Ensure that periodic correspondent bank reconciliations are completed and outstanding items are cleared in a timely fashion
  • Review and backup for the submission of the quarterly Call Report to the FFIEC, Federal Reserve Bank reporting, as well as other regulatory reporting, as needed
  • Assist in the coordination of the provision of information to external and internal auditors for their periodic reviews

Preferred Skills:

  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience for a community bank or division of a large bank
  • Proficiency with Excel and prior in-depth experience with accounting and payroll systems
