Role Overview
The Cashier is responsible for accurately processing all guest transactions, handling payments, and maintaining the integrity of the point-of-sale (POS) system. This role plays a vital part in ensuring a smooth and efficient billing process while providing professional and friendly service. The Cashier works closely with the service and management teams to ensure that all financial transactions are handled in line with company standards and guest satisfaction is maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash Handling: Manages the cash float, ensuring all cash transactions are balanced at the end of each shift. Prepares cash summaries, deposits, and reconciliation reports in accordance with finance procedures.
- Compliance and Security: Adheres to all company policies regarding cash handling, payment security, and data protection. Ensures guest information and financial data are handled confidentially.
- Billing Accuracy: Prepares and reviews guest bills to ensure accuracy and compliance with pricing, discounts, and promotions. Verifies that all items ordered are properly entered and charged.
- Collaboration with Service Team: Coordinates with waitstaff and supervisors to ensure smooth order processing, bill closures, and accurate communication between the floor and the cashier station.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a cashier within the hospitality or F&B industry.
- Basic understanding of restaurant operations and menu items.
- Good communication skills and customer-focused attitude.
- Strong sense of responsibility, honesty, and reliability.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
